The Project:
This most recent project was very large and focused on identifying the best location for a new manufacturing location in Europe.
The Process:
The team included consultants from a very large professional firm.We spent a lot of time narrowing down the list of key business requirements. The process involved in-depth analyses of various countries as well as site visits. We analyzed a long list of factors, such as country risks, ability to repatriate dividends, foreign exchange controls, labor market conditions, unemployment rates, infrastructure conditions, logistic considerations, access to raw materials, and many other criteria.
After reducing the choices to a short-list, the review process intensified and included additional criteria, ranging from the availability of appropriate schools all the way to financial incentives provided by the various authorities.
The Solution:
The project culminated with obtaining options on sites in Hungary and presentations to the board of directors to seek final approval.
